Research

As the most prominent research center, APD has been studying major public policy issues in Somaliland for the past two decades. The Academy’s values and direction have been built over time to reflect an objective, scientific, and academic understanding of the processes that shape governance issues locally. This unique perspective puts APD in the extraordinary position of being able to offer a program that is both locally developed, influenced, and completely nonpartisan in nature.

The Institute is committed to sharing ideas and practices suffused with years of dedicated locally-based research and informed by the passionate search for feasible solutions to local issues.
